the flagship store in London.
Now we are known as an International hair salon in Tokyo and a foreigner-friendly place.
We provide good quality products for foreign hair types and are strong in damage-less Japanese hair straightening,
aqua smoothing treatment is popular for Asian, Caucasian customers.
Our treatment focus on minimizing the damage and creating shiny and beautiful smooth hair with our technique.
Besides balayage, ombre and air touch highlights are also our favorite services.
Salon’s interiors are antique prepared by the owner from London and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable.

Baroque Tokyo is located in Omotesando Tokyo, one of Tokyo’A refined and stylish district. We are open six days a week. Irregular closures are announced on our official website and Instagram. The salon is a short walk from Omoesando Station (Chiyoda & Ginza Lines), Exit 3.

Whether you are an expat, a visitor, or simply more comfortable in English, our team will ensure you feel fully understood throughout your visit. Appointments with an English-speaking stylist can be requested at the time of booking via our website, Instagram DM, or by phone.

Same-day appointments are often available — please check our booking calendar or contact us directly. We recommend booking in advance for weekends and holidays, as slots fill up quickly.

Treatments
Hair Straightening & Smoothing
Japanese straightening (縮毛矯正) is a permanent chemical treatment that restructures the internal bonds of the hair to permanently eliminate frizz, curl, and wave. Unlike keratin treatments, which are semi-permanent and primarily coat the hair’s surface, Japanese straightening works from within the hair shaft and lasts significantly longer — typically 6 to 12 months or more, depending on hair growth. It is especially effective for strong curls, coarse textures, and severe frizz that other treatments cannot fully control.
A full treatment typically takes 3 to 5 hours depending on hair length, thickness, and curl degree. After the treatment, avoid washing your hair for at least 48 hours and do not tie or pin your hair during this period to allow the bonds to fully set. For ongoing care, use sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, minimize heat styling, and protect your hair from UV exposure. Hair smoothing treatment are recommended to maintain softness and shine between straightening appointments.
This depends on the current condition of your hair. Straightening can often be performed on colored hair, but it is generally not recommended for heavily bleached or significantly damaged hair, as the chemical process can cause further breakage. During your consultation, our stylist will assess your hair’s condition and porosity to determine the safest approach. Your hair health always comes first — we will never proceed with a treatment we believe could compromise its integrity.

Perms & Wave Treatments
We offer a range of perm techniques to suit different styles and hair types. Digital perms (デジタルパーマ) create soft, defined curls with beautiful results when dry and are long-lasting. Cold perms produce looser, more natural movement that looks best when the hair is damp or lightly dried. Spot perms can add volume or curl to specific sections such as the roots or ends. During your consultation, our stylist will recommend the most suitable technique based on your hair texture, desired style, and daily routine.
Digital perms typically last 4 to 6 months; cold perms generally last 3 to 4 months. To maintain your perm, wait 48 hours before washing after the treatment, use moisturizing and curl-enhancing products, and avoid brushing when dry — instead, use a wide-tooth comb or scrunch with your hands. Diffuser drying or air drying is preferred to preserve curl definition and reduce frizz. Regular moisture treatments will keep your waves looking fresh and healthy between appointments.
Perming previously straightened or chemically treated hair requires careful assessment, as overlapping chemical services increase the risk of damage. In some cases it is possible, but timing and current hair condition are critical. We generally recommend allowing at least 2 to 3 months between chemical treatments. If your hair has been bleached or is highly porous, a perm may not be advisable until sufficient recovery has taken place. Our stylists will conduct a thorough consultation and strand test where necessary to determine the safest course of action.
Color
Color & Highlights
We offer full color, root touch-ups, balayage, foil highlights, baby lights, glossing treatments, and fashion colors. We use organic and gentle-formula color lines that minimize scalp irritation and hair damage while delivering vibrant, long-lasting results with excellent transparency and shine. Ammonia-free options are available for clients with sensitive scalps or highly processed hair. Please share your priorities during your consultation and we will tailor the formula to suit you.
Lifting dark Asian hair to lighter tones requires bleaching, and achieving your ideal result in a healthy way often means working in stages across multiple sessions. At Baroque Tokyo we take a hair-health-first approach to lightening. Our stylists will assess your starting level, hair porosity, and desired result to create a realistic roadmap. Techniques such as balayage and selective highlighting can create beautiful dimension and lightness with less overall damage than an all-over bleach application. We will always be transparent about what is safely achievable in a single visit versus over multiple appointments.
Most permanent color remains vibrant for 4 to 8 weeks before noticeable fading or root regrowth appears, though this varies by color type, hair porosity, and aftercare habits. To extend the life of your color: wash with cool water, use a sulfate-free color-safe shampoo and conditioner, apply a UV-protective hair mist when outdoors, and use a weekly nourishing mask. Toning glosses between full color appointments are a great way to refresh faded tones. Our stylists will recommend a personalized home care routine at the end of your appointment.
